What is ConnectID?

ConnectID is an Australian-owned digital identity solution that lets you verify who you are using an identity provider you already trust, such as your bank. Instead of uploading photos of your driver's licence or passport, you confirm your details through your bank's existing secure login. ConnectID then tells us only what we need to know (for example, whether you are over 18) without us seeing sensitive documents.

How it works at checkout

1. When you're buying a product that requires age verification, you'll see a Verify with ConnectID option at checkout.
2. You choose your bank or identity provider from the ConnectID list.
3. You log in to your provider as you normally would.
4. Your provider confirms to ConnectID that you meet the age requirement.
5. ConnectID sends the confirmation result to Scoped Out. We do not receive your documents, account details, or anything else held by your provider.
6. You return to our checkout and complete your purchase.

Why we use ConnectID

Some of the products we sell are legally restricted to buyers aged 18 and over. ConnectID gives us a fast, private, and compliant way to meet our verification obligations without asking you to upload sensitive ID documents.

What information is shared?

With ConnectID, you stay in control. Scoped Out only receives the 'over 18' confirmation we need to verify.
